E1 Stratification and population behavior
Topic
The "Socioeconomic Behavior" component encompasses population distribution by socioeconomic stratum, aggregate education levels, labor force participation, consumption and savings patterns by stratum, and political and social organizational activity. None of these elements stands in isolation; they depend on inputs delivered by the other five tracks through specific entry points.
Socioeconomic Behavior receives income generated by the four activity tracks—employment and wages from Production, Services, Resources/Extraction, and Information/Knowledge—as well as investment returns from Property + Investment and state transfers. These investment returns complete the picture of financial wealth—already flowing from Property + Investment to households—while employment and wage income, alongside public health, sustain the labor force participation measured within this track's own diagnostic.
In turn, Socioeconomic Behavior supplies the labor force (in terms of availability and quality) to the four activity tracks—providing the workforce received by Production and Services, and the specialized human capital received by Information/Knowledge—while also generating consumer demand for Production and Services, providing available savings to Property + Investment (via the entry point that track already utilizes), and exerting political and social pressure on the State.
It is through these same entry points that the previously described anomalies of this track either originate or propagate: an exogenous shock affecting the population simultaneously reduces the labor supply provided to the four activity tracks, the consumer demand directed at Production and Services, and the savings available to Property + Investment. And political radicalization driven by economic frustration is precisely what heightens the political and social pressure exerted on the State through this track when the gap between expectations of mobility and actual mobility remains above the critical threshold. Stratification and population behavior thus form the foundation supporting both the four diagnostic indicators for this track and the connection points linking "Socioeconomic Behavior" to the remaining five tracks.
