M1 Stable stay in the current section
Topic
Stable persistence within the current tier is the default mode of the resource regime—the path that fully characterizes the Economy and Cliodynamics domains, and partially affects Population, as long as the system remains in that same tier. While a society stays within the same resource regime tier, there is no inherent oscillation within that mode; that is, there is no internal cycle causing it to alternate between distinct states, as occurs in other modes. The resource regime simply remains in the current tier, without shifting due to its own internal dynamics.
Stable persistence in the current tier is interrupted only when the trigger for a resource regime transition is activated. As long as that trigger—a discontinuous shift in the dominant source of surplus that is sustained over generations—remains inactive, the resource regime continues in a state of stable persistence within the current tier, regardless of fluctuations in other fundamental economic elements. Only with a resource regime transition does this stable persistence end, allowing the society to move from one resource regime tier to another.
