E1 Elements - social network

Topic

The elements of this lane's social network are nodes—representing individuals—and edges—representing influence ties between them—along with an individual adoption threshold and an exposure rate per person. None of these elements stand in isolation; they depend on inputs provided by other Kyon Model modules through specific entry ports.

This lane receives the narratives to be disseminated from Lane 3 (Sociophysics: Worldview) and the network structure from the cross-cutting Complex Networks modifier. These narratives—the very ideological field and legitimizing narratives already described by the Worldview module—constitute the concrete content propagating through this lane's social network. Meanwhile, the network structure—along with the social reproduction rate and time-to-saturation values measured during this lane's diagnostic phase—determines the speed and pathways of that propagation.

In turn, this lane outputs its dissemination speed and reach to two distinct destinations: Sociophysics, where it fuels the breakdown of Worldview legitimacy; and Econophysics, where it feeds the market sentiment of Lane 5 (Property + Investment). This same output port formalizes two connections previously noted only informally: "pluralistic ignorance"—describing how a gap between expressed and private opinion can sustain apparent legitimacy until it suddenly shatters—is what the legitimacy breakdown receives via this port when that gap is finally revealed; and "informational panic"—describing a collective overreaction to an ambiguous signal amplified by network connectivity—is what the Property + Investment market sentiment receives via this same port when that overreaction translates into a price reversal or a liquidity flight. The elements of the social network thus constitute the foundation supporting both the four diagnostic indicators for this particular track and the three previously described anomalies: the cascade of viral misinformation and information-driven panic represent instances where the speed and reach of dissemination skyrocket, whereas "pluralistic silence" is the form in which that same dissemination—when applied to genuine private opinion—is contained rather than expressed.
