E1 Property instruments and market agents

Topic

The "Property + Investment" instruments and market agents bring together property types and their concentration—private individual, corporate-shareholder, state, and collective—along with the financial instruments representing them (stocks, bonds, derivatives, funds) and the market agents operating within this sphere: investors, market makers, and algorithms. None of these elements stands in isolation; they depend on inputs delivered from other tracks via specific entry points.

"Property + Investment" receives profitability and fundamentals from the Production, Services, Resources/Extraction, and Information/Knowledge tracks—the actual cash flows underpinning any valuation—as well as the personal savings available from Track 6. It is the profitability of these four activity tracks that sustains the price-to-fundamentals ratio measured by the corresponding stock market index, and it is personal savings that fuel the demand for the financial instruments traded on this track.

In turn, "Property + Investment" channels investment capital toward those same four activity tracks—the capital and credit received by Production, the infrastructure capital for Services, the exploration capital for Resources/Extraction, and the R&D funding for Information/Knowledge—while also delivering financial wealth to households, back to Track 6. It is this very capital-delivery channel that—when a bubble-and-crash scenario or systemic illiquidity causes an abrupt price reversal—contracts sharply, transmitting the correction from financial assets to the real economic activity that the capital had been sustaining across the other four tracks. Ownership instruments and market agents thus form the foundation upon which stock market indices, volatility, liquidity measures, systemic risk indicators, and ownership concentration indices are measured; any change in the channels through which returns enter the four activity streams—or in individuals' available savings—ultimately reflects in one of these five indicators, while any shift in ownership concentration or market agent behavior, in turn, alters the investment capital that "Ownership + Investment" channels into those four streams and the financial wealth it delivers to households.
